UPDATE: My foster family fell in love with me, and I fell in love with them. We are now going to live together forever! Thank you for rescuing me!!

UPDATE: MARCH 4, 2021 – Look at me! I got a nice bath and dried off in super soft blankets. I even have my own feline foster sibling now, and my very own stuffed toys. I am enjoying the USA so much!!

UPDATE: MARCH 3, 2021 – Look at me now! I am cuddling on the couch with my new foster family. Aren’t they the sweetest ever! I am sooo happy. Thank you!

UPDATE: March 1, 2021 – Look at me! I am enjoying my first night in the USA – look at this beautiful grass and backyard. Everyone is so nice to me. On to my new foster’s house soon.

UPDATE February 28, 2021 – I just landed safe and sound with my new heroes – Power Pups Rescue in CA. I am getting settled in. I can’t wait to share more about my journey…

February 26, 2021: Guess what! I am on my way to the USA. Here is a picture of me at my travel escort’s house (she is a beautiful El Refugio volunteer). I cannot wait to meet El Refugio’s new international partner in the USA. They are going to find me a home of my very own. I cannot wait to share my hound dog love. Can you believe this was me Sherlock! I was so skinny and scared when I was found in the jungle. I am so thankful to be rescued. I am so thankful to be loved!!

HANDSOME HOUND DOG

Hi, my name is Sherlock. I was found wandering the jungle, lost, and searching for food. Now, I have found shelter and thankfully healthy food and wonderful humans to watch over me.

I’m being taken care of by a wonderful foster family. I can’t wait to find my forever home. xo Sherlock

PS, I am very curious and I like to explore, so it’s best for me to have a fenced-in yard. I also have a beautiful hound howl to sing you to sleep.

Sherlock’s foster family says this about him “Sherlock is a dog with a sweet character. He is a friend of children and adults. He is very playful without using force and he is friendly with other dogs and does not provoke any fights. He won my heart and that of my family for being an adorable dog, We love him with all our hearts.”

Visit our shelter

Our shelter is open to the public for Adoption Saturdays from 9-12 every Saturday. If you are unable to visit during those hours, please contact us to arrange another time!

All animals at El RefUgio are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed.
