Hi, my name is Rusty. I was a stray in Cortes Costa Rica. But now, I have a safe place to rest my head. I get along well with other dogs and with people and kids too! I am ready for a home to call my own and a family to love unconditionally. Can I be yours? xoxo Rusty
Rusty’s current foster says these things about him. “We have been taking Rusty for walks and there’s lots of dogs in the area and he is just wonderful. If they bark at him, he never barks back. His body language is exactly what you would want from a dog. He’s very good with our tiny puppy. He never marks in the house, and he is not destructive at all. He requires basically no training. He would make a great pet for anyone.”

Visit our shelter
Our shelter is open to the public for Adoption Saturdays from 9-12 every Saturday. If you are unable to visit during those hours, please contact us to arrange another time!
All animals at El RefUgio are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed.
