SECOND CHANCES

Hi, my name is Osito. Osito means Teddy Bear in Spanish, which I truly am!

I was rescued by El Refugio from a fruit stand. I was tied up all day long and not given a lot of love, but now I am learning how to be loved. It is new to me, but I am very grateful for all the people who are taking care of me.

I walk good on a leash. I also am learning commands. I am really smart! I like to play with other dogs too.

I was given a second chance at life, and I hope that life is with YOU. Hugs Osito

OSITO’S SUCCESS STORY

El Refugio Costa Ballena received a call in November 2019  that there were four dogs tied up at a local fruit stand in Uvita. El Refugio unfortunately knew of this fruit stand because they had rescued other dogs from this stand before. El Refugio arrived to find Osito chained underneath a trailer with no water or food or human affection. He, along with 3 other dogs at this fruit stand were rescued by El Refugio.

Because of his living situation, Osito was showing signs of untrust and fear. El Refugio was able to find a wonderful training and rehabilitation center for Osito (and donors who helped pay for the training – thank you!) in Orotino, Costa Rica called Adiestramiento Canino MARS @caninomars.

The dogs that come to this facilty, stay in a home environment where they are socialized with other dogs and humans giving them exposure to all they need to become balanced and happy dogs. They have time in the yard each day along with scheduled training sessions multiple times each day to learn basic obedience and commands.

We enjoyed watching facebook post updates on Osito’s training, his love for baths, and his love for humans and other dogs. Now, we can share the great news that Osito was adopted in May 2020. He so deserved this second chance at life. Thank you to all that helped this sweet dog Osito!!

Let’s meet soon! Fill out the Adoption and Foster Application to get started on our new life together.
