In early September, we had a very special family come to El Refugio Costa Ballena. Not only did they adopt kitten JOEY (now Sam), but they also adopted two sibling puppies Thor (now Arthur) and Alfa (now Ines). We are so happy for Sam, Arthur, and Ines. Thank you so much Thierry, Malvina and Elisa for adopting three very special animals.
Hi, my name is Joey. I was found abandoned north of Uvita. I was so happy to be found because it is dangerous for a kitten out in the jungle! I am healthy and ready to be yours. Hugs Joey

Visit our shelter
Our shelter is open to the public for Adoption Saturdays from 9-12 every Saturday. If you are unable to visit during those hours, please contact us to arrange another time!
All animals at El Refugio are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed.
