Hi, my name is Esperanza. Esperanza means “hope”. As soon as the Police found me dying on the side of the road, I knew there was still Hope, and look at me now. It is a miracle that I am alive! The Police and El Refugio saved me.
I am now recovered from my injuries. My right eye had to be removed, but I can see good with my other eye, so no worries. My foster family says that I get along great with other dogs and cats too!!
I am very curious and I like to explore, so it’s best for me to have a fenced-in yard. I also have a beautiful hound howl to sing you to sleep.

Visit our shelter
Our shelter is open to the public for Adoption Saturdays from 9-12 every Saturday. If you are unable to visit during those hours, please contact us to arrange another time!
All animals at El RefUgio are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed.
