We have an AMAZING team of volunteers at El Refugio, but we are always in need of more people to help! We welcome local volunteers as well as volunteers who are visiting the area for a shorter period of time. Volunteers under the age of 18 are welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Some of the opportunities available include:
- Shelter volunteers to walk dogs and snuggle kittens
- Foster families to temporarily care for animals in their home
- Adoption and foster programs
- Education programs in both schools and the community at large
- Fundraising, donation programs, event coordination, and grant writing
- Community outreach and assistance
- Social media (Facebook and Instagram) and website maintenance
- Marketing and communications
- Spay and neuter clinics or vaccination programs
If any of these sound like something you’re interested in, we want your help! You don’t need any experience, just a willingness to help, a love of animals, and a great attitude!
